School for Recovery
The School for Recovery gives Cafe members and non-members the chance to grow, heal, discover, take risks, and surprise themselves by doing and becoming what they never thought possible.
While the word “recovery” doesn’t appear in most course titles, every class is designed to provide support, wisdom, and companionship for making healthier choices as we live with whatever it is we are recovering from.
Participation in the School advances the recovery journey in several ways:
-
Taking classes gives people meaningful things to do with their time and gets them out of their heads.
-
Gives individuals ways to build deeper relationships with people serious about their recovery journey.
-
Provides mentors who are committed to their healing and growth
-
Introduces them to new ideas and experiences that can take them on life-giving paths they’ve never imagined
-
Most importantly, the School for Recovery is about letting yourself get passionate about something and diving into it in creative, healing ways.
The school year is divided into three 10-week terms (fall, winter, spring) with a 5-week term in the summer.
A brochure about upcoming classes is available at the Cafe and online several weeks before the start of the next term.
Members of the Cafe can sign up for as many classes as they wish. Non-members can sign up for one class each term. If you are a non-member and want to sign up for one of the ongoing classes that meet throughout the year, please contact Sheri Cindrich or Bill LeClair.
